The mother of a man convicted for his role in a home invasion and officer shooting, is schuled to appear in court Monday.

Marie Jackson faces perjury charges after police say she lied on the stand that her son Michael was with her the day of a home invasion.

That crime dates back to December of 2004. That’s when a southeast side neighborhood was locked down after police got into a shootout with an armed suspect.

Grand Rapids Police officer Jason Lowrie was hit three times. He has since recovered.

Two men were wanted in connection in the case, Michael Jackson and Otis Nelson. Both men fled Michigan, but were arrested in Atlanta.

A jury found Nelson guilty last March in the shooting of officer Lowrie.

Jackson was found guilty on assault and home invasion charges.

If convicted of perjury, Marie Jackson could face 15 years in prison.
