ANN ARBOR — A jury in Ann Arbor resumes deliberations this morning in the trial of a man in the rape and suffocation of an Eastern Michigan University student.
The jurors told the judge they were unable to reach a verdict Friday in the case against 21-year-old Orange Taylor III and were dismissed for the weekend. They failed to reach a verdict Monday.
The December killing of 22-year-old Laura Dickinson and a delay in informing the public about it led to the firing of university President John Fallon.
Taylor is charged with an open count of murder, which gives the jury a choice of first- or second-degree murder. He’s also charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
